Administrator
Makinna was named administrator at The Laurels of Forest Glenn in April of 2020. She has a passion for caring for older adults, a passion that was solidified at a young age when she cared for her grandfather at home with her mother and sisters.
Knowing that senior care was her calling, she pursued a bachelor’s degree in gerontology and management & leadership from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, while working as a Dietary Server at the local Continuing Care Retirement Community. Determined to start her career in the field of aging, she graduated in just three years to begin her AIT at Otterbein SeniorLife and then transitioned into the assistant administrator role there, where she worked for a year and a half.
Makinna joined The Laurels in January of 2019, perviously serving as administrator at The Laurels of Blanchester in Blanchester, Ohio. Makinna continues to expand her knowledge and skills in the industry by seeking opportunities for hands-on experience and continuing education as she believes she is here to serve others.
